Are there more guardians or defiants

I have also heard that the side does not impact the playstyle, only the quests? To me, the Gurdians are Fantasy, while the Defiants are Steampunk-ish. Second, class-wise, I should ask which class I should start out with, or end with later on. I always felt that there is a specific race that fits with a specific class, but that's just me. Last, which server is the most popular? I don't like playing in a game that feels singleplayer, it makes the world quite empty.

If anyone has any good tips, than I will be glad to implement them into my gameplaying experience. They got a true alien race, and another race really looking like aliens and a nomadic sort of human people. If science fiction and steampunk is your thing then go for the Defiants. Obviously you must already have a previous character on a faction, and since you don't feel any loyalty to stay then perhaps try the other one? As for class? That's a difficult one.

What do you have now? The rest of the time we need wages. Originally Posted by Bluebell. Bluebell that is an excellent description of the differences between the two factions! But I just couldn't get 'into' the Defiants. I'm a big fan of high fantasy and I particularly love Dwarves, so eventually I caved in and created a Dwarf Guardian. I'm glad I did, the whole fantasy world with faeries and trolls just clicks with me. The religious bit still bugs me though and makes me grate my teeth, but I'm dealing with it.

Link Dead. If you plan to do any crafting then go defiant. Everything is more convenient in Meridian. Pick the side with the hottest women imho.

Go guardian, because first and foremost But seriously, I tried them both and while I did like the defiant story line I could not shed the feeling of "home" that I found in the beauty of Sanctum. And I will defend this capital until my last dying breath. Additionally, the lore behind the building of Sanctum drew me in. I appreciate great pieces of art work and craftmanship and the guardians ooze this quality from the dwarfs.

Yes the elves are your standard nature loving bunch, but that is what makes them so great And the honor of the Mathsoians and their heart to win the battle makes for a great story to get behind also. Everyone loves the rebels that the defiants are, so everyone chooses the "bad" side. All my friends went horde and likewise they all went defiant. I love the underdogs so I of corse had to go guardians But truely, both sides are misunderstood and we all could use a good sit down with a hot cup of tea, a sharing circle, and pass around our feelings I always personally preferred Defiant over Guardian - as described above i cant do it better but its all a question of taste.

I also noticed that you do not have a mage. As you probably know if you have given Rift a try, the conflict between the two factions Guardian and Defiant is an integral part of the gameplay. Did you choose to be a Guardian, and to piously follow the religion of the Vigil, or did you become a Defiant and put your trust in science and technology as a way to conquer the forces of Regulos? I've chosen both, to be honest. I like the guardians a bit more, because they have those elves and they look a lot better, basically if you want to look buff and bulky - choose The Defiants, if not - go for the skinnier ones and pick the guardians It's just really ridiculous, why would you want a bulky mage?

I'd prefer if mages looked like they're packing less muscle Joined: Sep 2, Messages: 10 Likes Received: 0. I chose the Guardians, I'd had enough of the "insane techromancer" kind of ideal the Defiants are all about.

Plus, I always love to be on the "underdog" side, where the most intense players will go to the evil team. This leads to a lot of whining that the good guys are always losing PvP, and that the bad guys outperform us a lot, but in Rift that wasn't really true. NimChimpsky Member.
